Individuals
Individuals
Become our Sponsor (or help us find one)!
The sponsor is a person (or persons), who decides that they care enough to make a personal commitment to our Dreamers. The primary role of this person is to ensure our financial viability for the life of the program (10-15 years). This would include making a personal donation but more importantly, helping us create and execute a fundraising plan to ensure our financial needs will be met over the long term. We are open to many types of sponsorships including: individuals, groups, organizations, businesses etc. Please contact us if you know of anyone who may be interested in finding out more about this “labor of love”.

Board Members
We are looking for individuals to serve as board members who understand the correlation between high expectations and high achievement and who recognize the dire straits the children of our low income communities are in. Because we are at the start of a new project, we are seeking people who can contribute in a variety of ways. Although our most critical needs are in the area of fundraising, financial advising, legal advising and technology-the most important qualification is the willingness to take an active role in developing the organization through the donation of time, skills, and energy. We can accommodate all schedules!

Advisory Committee
Do you have a skill but can not commit to being a board member? We are looking for a talented arsenal of people to consult sporadically on various topics ranging from legal matters, fundraising, curriculum, human resources etc. Whatever your skill set, we need you!

Outreach
Are you tapped into a community of people who may be interested in supporting our program with volunteers or donations such as a rotary club, fraternity/sorority, country club, book club, church or even a business? Help us spread the word and gain support by inviting us to give a presentation at your next meeting.

Tutors/Mentors
We are looking for qualified, patient and committed tutors and mentors to volunteer during our after school program. These volunteers will provide homework help and/or social support to either a small group of elementary school students or 1:1. Volunteers are needed after school for a 1 hour time block, Monday-Thursday. IHAD-East Oakland asks that volunteers commit to an entire school year with the Dreamers. Please contact our program for more information.
